About Us.

Adventures from the inside out.

This is your site for Adventures, both the wee and the grand of ‘em. From projects we’re now proud to dig into, to exploration of new places.

‘Tis a fledgling site, true. But it grows with each new page, like the beating of a wing, until it is soon airborne and riding the currents of each experience (yours and ours) that lifts it higher.

This is where you come in.

How do your experiences play a part, you wonder? Show us what you’re excited about — what you’ve completed with a sense of accomplishment, or the the trip to somewhere new that you finally stopped putting off. We’d like to see what you’re frustrated about but wouldn’t trade for a second — the flops that taught you how to better approach a project on the next go ‘round. We’d like to see what you’ve been scared to dive into but dove (or dipped your to) into anyway, just to to experience it.

Go on! Throw your hat in the ring and be among the first to contribute to our Community Scrapbook — a photo of your project or adventure (at any stage) or a lil’ note about it. Remember, this is about community — folks with be glad to see that they are not alone when they see your post, no matter how finished or incomplete, no matter whether it has professional flare or the courage of unabashed imperfect and novice trial & error. We are all in this grand adventure together.

A Brief History

At first we were just a bunch of studiomates starting our freelance careers in Toronto, Canada. Lars was an illustrator, Chris was a web designer who worked with Laura, an engineer, and Marisa was a set designer. As our gigs picked up, the studio became our second home. We all wanted to decorate our space in a way that was both comfortable and productive. Marisa broke the ice by bringing the studio’s first plant.

We set up a collective mood board, which was essentially the seed of this website. Each of us always had a little comment to go with the image. Chris joked that we were so opinionated about interior design that we should start an online magazine about it.

One night, when Laura needed a break from work, she uploaded the mood board images to her Squarespace account. Lo and behold, Tudor was born. Laura named the site after Lars’ cat, who was named after his favorite architecture style. We started interviewing friends who had beautiful houses and apartments. Now we cover a wider range of design topics and have over 30,000 subscribers.
